Motivating Moral Story of Napoleon

This is a great motivating moral story about Napoleon the great emperor who got afraid once when he got surrounded by Russian Cossacks

The Russian Cossacks found the emperor Napoleon detached from his army in a small town of Russia, during on of the many wars that he had fought in his endeavour to conquer the whole world and started chasing him.

Napoleon had no way out but jump into a heap of cotton lying in front of a cotton shop. The Cossacks started searching the market area. By then his army came in and Napoleon got away alive.

One of his generals asked Napoleon , “Your Highness, how did you feel hiding in there?”

Napoleon said, “How dare you ask your emperor a question like that. Arrest the General and execute him. I personally will give the order to fire.” Ordered Napoleon.

The General was blind folded immediately. The General now could not see anything but he could feel firm hands dragging him to some place.

The General walked silently without uttering a word, cursing himself for being foolish enough to have asked such a stupid question embarrassing the emperor, inviting death. The General's heart beat was increasing in anticipation of what was coming.

The General could hear the cocking sounds of the guns and even though he was blindfolded, he could still imagine physically how the soldiers must be standing in a line with more than a dozen guns aimed at him, awaiting the final order to fire.

The General's brain stopped thinking, his mind went emotionless, his body went numb and was no more under the control of his brain, he found it difficult to lift a hand up, his mouth was totally dry and he found it impossible even to make a small sound.

The General was trembling all over and he could hear his teeth chattering. After about half a minute, a pair of hands opened his blindfold. When he opened his eyes, the General saw the smiling face of Napoleon, who said, “Now you know it.”

The Moral of Napoleon's Story

  1. An amazing story. I never knew NAPOLEON the Great could be afraid of anything ever. But his General seemed to have learned a great lesson.

  2. The same way we need to get into more experience than theoretical.
